BLCF is a leading local grantmaker, striving to be a catalyst for positive change in the community and committed to addressing inequality. The Foundation distributes millions of pounds locally each year and is establishing a national reputation for an innovative, community-focused, and strategic approach.

We are seeking a driven and dynamic Senior Grants Manager and a Grants Manager to join our expanding team to help support the Foundation with its funding programmes and other initiatives.

Applicants will need to have relevant levels of experience of the grant making process and programmes, excellent written skills, and the ability to communicate with a wide range of people. Excellent IT skills are also essential.

The job will be a combination of homeworking and office based and flexible working can be considered. Full training will be provided for the right candidate. We are particularly keen to welcome applications from diverse communities and the communities with lived experience of inequality and those we aim to support through our work.

Grants Manager – Salary £29,000 – £31,000 pro rata. Offered at 30hrs per week and is offered as a 1-year contract initially (to be extended subject to funding)

Both salaries listed are indicative and pro rata and subject to finalised pay award April 2024 and negotiable based on levels of experience.

Ever considered becoming a Trustee? We would love to hear from you…
Trustees are the group of people who act in the charity’s best interests, set the strategy or plan, make key decisions and oversee the running of the organisation whilst supporting the Chief Executive.
We are all serious volunteers and there is a formal side to our work, however we endeavour to make our meetings informative and enjoyable!
Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation (BLCF) is an independent, non-profit organisation established in 2001, our aim is to improve the quality of life for local residents through encouraging local giving. We are the 7th largest grant making CF in the UK.

We are looking to grow our Board with Bedfordshire based Trustees with specific skills:

  • Human Resources
  • Property Development
  • Public & Media Relations
  • Investment & Portfolio Management

We provide training and mentoring throughout the first twelve months.

We meet quarterly at our offices and will invite you to join one of our three Executive Committees.

Become a Community Representative

We are looking for people with knowledge, skills and experience to join our grants panel, on a voluntary basis. Panel members play an important role in the Community Foundations grant-making through offering their independent voice, skills and knowledge of the priorities we are looking to address. We are keen to hear from people living in the Bedfordshire county who can demonstrate commitment to local community issues and community development. We are particularly keen to encourage enquiries from people who may work in the following areas:

  • Environmental
  • Mental Health
  • Poverty
  • Education
  • Disabilities
  • Under-represented communities

Grant panel members will need to be able to give their time and expertise, attending up to 5 meetings across the year (max 2hrs per meeting), these take place as a mixture of either in person or online. Panel meetings are usually held during working hours and full relevant training will be provided.

*Please note that we are not able to recruit representatives that may be connected or work with any organisations that may be able to apply for funding from the Foundation*.
