Be A Trustee

Ever considered becoming a Trustee? We would love to hear from you…
Trustees are the group of people who act in the charity’s best interests, set the strategy or plan, make key decisions and oversee the running of the organisation whilst supporting the Chief Executive.
We are all serious volunteers and there is a formal side to our work, however we endeavour to make our meetings informative and enjoyable!
Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation (BLCF) is an independent, non-profit organisation established in 2001, our aim is to improve the quality of life for local residents through encouraging local giving. We are the 7th largest grant making CF in the UK.

We are looking to grow our Board with Bedfordshire based Trustees with specific skills:

  • Human Resources
  • Property Development
  • Public & Media Relations
  • Investment & Portfolio Management

We provide training and mentoring throughout the first twelve months.

We meet quarterly at our offices and will invite you to join one of our three Executive Committees.

For an informal discussion about the role contact [email protected]

If you are employed by an organisation receiving funding from Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation, you are precluded from applying.

Please get in touch today and become a valued member of BLCF Board of Trustees.

Become a Community Representative

We are looking for people with knowledge, skills and experience to join our grants panel, on a voluntary basis. Panel members play an important role in the Community Foundations grant-making through offering their independent voice, skills and knowledge of the priorities we are looking to address. We are keen to hear from people living in the Bedfordshire county who can demonstrate commitment to local community issues and community development. We are particularly keen to encourage enquiries from people who may work in the following areas:

  • Environmental
  • Mental Health
  • Poverty
  • Education
  • Disabilities
  • Under-represented communities

Grant panel members will need to be able to give their time and expertise, attending up to 5 meetings across the year (max 2hrs per meeting), these take place as a mixture of either in person or online. Panel meetings are usually held during working hours and full relevant training will be provided.

*Please note that we are not able to recruit representatives that may be connected or work with any organisations that may be able to apply for funding from the Foundation*.

Please express your interest in writing (no more than 400 words) detailing your relevant skills and experience to Francesca Johnstone via email to: [email protected] or call 01525 306690 if you have any queries.
